September has been designated as National Recovery Month, an opportunity to increase awareness and understanding of mental and substance use issues and celebrate the people who recover sponsored by SAMHSA. Recovery Month is now in its 26th year and highlights the achievements of individuals who have reclaimed their lives in long-term recovery and honors the treatment and recovery service providers who make recovery possible. Recovery Month also promotes the message that recovery in all of its forms is possible and encourages citizens to take action to help expand and improve the availability of effective prevention, treatment, and recovery services for those in need.

Currently, more than 200 federal, state, and local government entities, as well as nonprofit organizations and associations affiliated with prevention, treatment, and recovery of mental and/or substance use disorders, comprise the Recovery Month Planning Partners’ group. The real success stories are the millions of Americans whose lives have been transformed through recovery. Since these successes often go unnoticed by the broader population, Recovery Month provides a vehicle for everyone to celebrate these accomplishments.

The theme for Recovery Month 2015 is Join the Voices for Recovery: Visible, Vocal, Valuable!, which highlights the value of peer support in educating, mentoring, and helping others. The theme also invites individuals in recovery and their support systems to be catalysts and active change agents in communities, and in civic and advocacy engagements. It encourages individuals to start conversations about the prevention, treatment, and recovery of behavioral health conditions at earlier stages of life.

Fire Power Seminars has long-standing relationships with many organizations and treatment centers in the Recovery Community. We work with recovery by offering powerful experiential seminars in a safe and supportive environment, where participants learn how powerful they truly are. Whether it’s alcohol or other drugs… or any of a myriad of other self-destructive patterns… participants learn to recognize the strength within to move beyond their fears. To overcome their patterns and addictions. And, thus empowered, they achieve.

If you are a mentor, administrator, or part of a Recovery Treatment Center team, Fire Power Seminars is able to bring experiential seminars to your clients. Contact us today to discuss which activities will complement your programs.
