Harness Your Personal Power by Doing Something Impossible

Mar 18th, 2016

Why impossible might not be so impossible after all.

Live Your Best Life

Think about the last time you did something impossible, or think about the last time you didn’t try something because you thought it was impossible. You’re probably fumbling around in your brain right now for a memory that seems strange to recall because it’s something you didn’t do, not because you were scared (these memories tend to stick) but because you thought it couldn’t be done.

Imagine a time traveler from 500 years ago making their way to today’s world. Imagine how shocked they would be at the things we take for granted each and every day. How could you explain smartphones to them? Space travel? The Internet? They would not even be able to fathom what’s going on because in their mind, these things were impossible.

500 years may seem like a long time ago, but the reality is the more we learn, the easier it is for us to learn. The more you open yourself up to the impossible, the easier it is to achieve it.

While not everyone will experience a world-changing discovery or invention that turns the impossible quite possible in their lifetime, everyone does experience it on a smaller scale in their own lives.

Think back to when you were a child. For you, certain things that were easy to your parents seemed impossible to you until you grew up. You may be fully grown now, but chances are you aren’t harnessing your full potential. Just because you believe something to be impossible doesn’t mean it is.

At the Office Depot Foundation Women’s Symposium, some participants were able to learn firsthand a lot about “Maximizing Your Personal Power”. They did this by doing what appeared impossible to them: breaking through a board with their bare hands. You’ve seen it done before, but have you ever thought you could do it yourself? One participant stated, “The board breaking was my favorite part. I think it was a tangible example of what so many of the speakers were talking about. We live with fear and let it limit us — no matter how much we know about what we are supposed to do, some people are paralyzed by fear. To actually break through the fear is proof positive that we can do whatever we set our minds to do!”

Another group of participants, known as the REAL Women in Trucking, had a number of breakthrough experiences. This is further proof that the impossible is only a matter of the limitations we put on ourselves.

There may not be a practical purpose for breaking through a board with your bare hands, apart from some bragging rights and a cool party trick, but there is certainly a symbolic one. The board is a barrier, a barrier of impossibility, and once you break through it, the impossible seems not so impossible after all. On March 21, you’ll have the chance to participate in an interactive workshop on Maximizing Your Personal Power: Well Formed Outcomes. This event is for anyone who is interested in learning what it takes to successfully attain any goal.

You may not be able to think about the last time you didn’t try something because you thought it was impossible, but you can learn to open up your mind and harness your personal power so that you can change the way you think about the word impossible.

See for yourself that you can do more than you give yourself credit for, and let Fire Power Seminars show you how to harness your personal power by doing something impossible.
