When was the last time you took inventory of where you are in your life? Have you taken the time to stop and observe… really observe and notice what is and is not working for you?
As we close out 2010 and enter into a new year, it is a great opportunity to honestly evaluate our lives and become aware of the gap between who we really are and who we want to be. It is a time to reflect and become aware of what is and is not working in our life.
Are you satisfied with the results you are getting? Increase your awareness and just notice! According to Webster’s dictionary, awareness is “vigilance in observing”. What is showing up in your life as a result of your choices – your focus? And what uncomfortable and nonproductive things are you hiding from your conscious mind in an attempt to feel better? By opening yourself to truth and acknowledging what is really going on in your life, you can learn from it – and correct it. Or you can choose to be paralyzed by fear, hide your head in the sand, and not pay conscious attention to unpleasant facts because they do not fit into your self-image. It’s all a choice and it’s up to you to decide what to focus on.
Seize this opportunity to see your world without the self-protective – and self-deceptive – filter. Facing the truths in our lives is challenging, but liberating. What can you do differently? What can you change to achieve better results? The mind is a very powerful tool you can use to change your focus. What new approaches can you take in life? Whom do you know who can help you? The simple truth is that whatever you focus on expands. Your mind cannot differentiate between what is real and what is vividly imagined. What you focus on in life is what shows up!
I challenge you to take the time (and the time is now) to create a new reality for what is possible. And I challenge you to challenge yourself. Become aware and keep noticing/pay attention to what shows up in your life. Be flexible in changing your approach if needed, to direct your focus and live your truth to get what you truly want for yourself and your loved ones.
Best wishes for a new year that fills your heart and your passion.
