Our Story
We’re often asked why there’s a foot in a flame on our Fire Power Seminars logo. Well, that’s exactly where it all started. Firewalking. Yes, firewalking … when participants cross a bed of 1,200°F coals and instantly feel the energy and power of the fire.
Many years ago, at different points in our lives, we courageously walked across beds of hot coals during firewalking events. This spirited introduction to firewalking and its transformational benefits dramatically changed the courses of our lives. We experienced undeniable change, which eventually lead us to share firewalking with others so they, too, could experience change.
We also knew we loved helping people. That may sound like a cliché, but early in the formation of Fire Power Seminars, we decided to make the commitment to helping people by providing the best possible programs and tools that deliver empowering, lasting change.
So, in 2006, we founded Fire Power Seminars and have been helping people identify and break through their limiting beliefs, fears and unproductive patterns in a safe and supportive environment.
That’s why there’s a foot in a flame on our logo.
But wait, it’s much more than a logo. And much more than firewalking.
Sure, the ancient, elemental power of fire is the foundation of everything we do to help people connect to the power within themselves, to experience transformation and to take action, ultimately breaking through fears and barriers, and creating change.
And, as we built our business with various individuals and organizations, we realized there were other compelling activities that could inspire and empower people, and help them achieve sustainable motivation and confidence. So we added even more team building activities to our already successful base of breakthrough activities, which included board breaking, breaking bricks, breaking arrows, bending steel rebar, glass walking and firewalking.
Today, as we celebrate our 17th anniversary, we proudly provide a wide range of dynamic programs and activities that empower, inspire and encourage people — as individuals and as part of an organization, business or team.
From team building, communication and leadership training to executive and staff retreats and breakthrough coaching, our bold approach to creating and delivering customized programs is based on our ability to understand individuals’ and organizations’ unique challenges.
In short, we facilitate the advancement of companies, organizations and people to help them achieve their missions, visions and objectives. Our programs allow them to embrace who they are and where they’re at, as they recognize what needs to be done to be successful.
The results? Fears are faced. Beliefs are shifted. Communication is improved. Trust is enhanced. Teams are strengthened. Leaders are enlightened. Change is achieved. Barriers are shattered.

I have a passion for boldly challenging and helping people and groups achieve positive, lasting change.
I played softball at a national level, which shaped my life-long love of sports, and appreciation for cohesive team building and strong leadership. As a printing company owner, I partnered with many industry leaders and honed my skills in providing exceptional customer service. My next career move was to join an advertising agency, where I thrived in the fast-paced environment and delivered successful results for Fortune 500 companies.
However, my life-changing experience firewalking prompted me to become a certified firewalk instructor. Subsequently, I founded Fire Power Seminars in 2006 to help people gain awareness of self-limiting beliefs and patterns, and, ultimately, generate successful, long-term changes.

KAREN E. PFEFFER, Co-Founder

Born and raised in Venezuela until the age of 15 by a father from Kansas and a mother from Puerto Rico, I have a unique cultural mix that has inspired me to challenge stereotypes and capture opportunities.
After I earned a business degree from Florida Southern College, I entered the male-dominated field of banking and became the first woman president of the Florida Bank Marketing Association.
Next, I founded a full-service marketing and advertising agency, which provided a broad range of strategic and creative marketing for local, national and international clients. I also became a certified practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), and was certified in basic and advanced PSYCH-K.
In 2006, I co-founded Fire Power Seminars to provide communication, empowerment, team building and transformation programs through high-impact experiences. I view every encounter as an opportunity to help people and have devoted countless hours to counseling individuals in need.

Reforestation
We’re committed to preserving trees for future generations through forest rejuvenation. In partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation, we’ll plant a tree in a fire-ravaged National Forest on behalf of every person who participates in a Fire Power Seminars program.
Addiction Recovery
We’ve devoted countless hours to help individuals addicted to drugs and alcohol. When we spend focused time, one-on-one in a confidential setting, we’re able to help addicts become aware of self-destructive patterns and disempowering beliefs. We’re dedicated to facilitating discussions and activities so they may face their fears, gain insights and create the future they deserve.
