Happy Valentine’s Day! Do Something Good for Your Heart

Feb 14th, 2017

Happy Valentine’s Day! This is the day that reminds us to embrace the love that surrounds us, to honor those who love and support us, and a chance to indulge in some extra sweetness. Love comes in many shapes and manifestations, and is really about activating and directing our hearts.

When was the last time you did something for YOU? Something that empowers you and makes your heart sing?

As we are prepping for the Office Depot Foundation Women’s Symposium this coming weekend (February 17-18 and tickets are still available!), we want to share the inspiration of a woman that has an immense heart and passion for what she does – Mary Wong, President of the Office Depot Foundation.

Mary is not only a pillar in the South Florida business and philanthropic communities, but she was recognized as one of America’s Top 20 Women in Philanthropy for 2016 out of a pool of 450 nominees. She has overcome numerous health and personal challenges and continues to have an incredible, positive attitude that keeps her moving forward. Mary is a shining example for all of us and her impactful philosophies are reflected in the theme of the Women’s Symposium, Building Your Hive for Sweet Success: Life and Leadership questions for the Queen Bee. Using the bumble bee as inspiration, you will learn how to heighten your spirit of community, take better care of yourself, and have more meaningful relationships. Read more about Beehives as models for successful business here!

We invite you to join us this weekend at the Women’s Symposium. Meet Mary, the other amazing speakers and presenters, and spend the weekend with like-minded women! The speakers will share their knowledge and formulas for you to move forward positively to expand your world personally and professionally. And as one of the 12 speakers, Karen Pfeffer is taking last year’s presentation, Maximizing Your Personal Power, a step further this year by presenting “Step Into Your Power”.  You will have an opportunity to engage your mind and body (embodied cognition) to experience empowerment and breakthrough.

Are you interested in growing, learning, and expanding your world in a more positive and productive way? Making the commitment to attend the symposium is a great gift to yourself and your favorite women. Be ready to expand your heart, receive tools, skills and innovative approaches to achieving your dreams. These tools and connections will heighten your spirit of community, give you options to take better care of yourself, and have more meaningful relationships. The Symposium will leave you feeling rejuvenated, focused, and inspired. You will engage in open dialogues with industry leaders and experts to help you take the steps toward a more purposeful life – inside and outside of your hive. You will learn the power of discernment, learning to know whom you want involved in your life – your hive – and how to be self-sufficient.

Through Mary’s influence and inspiration, an important part of the Symposium are the presentations on what to do when adversity hits, how to navigate hard days, and real life tools to snap out of the negative mindset that shows up in life from time to time. You will learn valuable tips in a safe and supportive environment that will assist you in your journey moving forward.

One of Mary’s consistent messages is “be proud of yourself”. So often we “keep on keeping on” without taking the time to reflect on all what has been accomplished and taking pride in all that we have been able to accomplish through courage and determination. Embrace and understand what being innovative and collaborative is about — your differentiating factor that makes you who you are. Your values, and walking your talk – show people how you do what you are passionate about and how that separates you from others. Show them your heart!

Join the Difference Maker Movement by joining like-minded people this weekend at the Office Depot Foundation Women’s Symposium. You are invited be yourself, share your thoughts, desires and wishes, and expand your world through awareness. Come to a place where you will be loved for who you are and where you are in your journey with no judgment. Just “bee”!

Registration is still open – click here

And it all ties in with the Office Depot Foundation’s mission to LISTEN (to your heart), LEARN (to connect the dots) and CARE (for your community). Follow the hashtag #Diffmkrwomen to see what is happening at the Symposium.
